Of course, when I open Disk Utility from the booted install, the frickin' Options button is there! lol. My partition scheme at the bottom says Master Boot Record.

 

Take your DVD, while you are booting immediately after your POST screen, hold down f8. This SHOULD take you to the boot options prompt. Start up with -v -s

 

Single user mode verbose. Watch what it is doing, and it should hault or error out on something. Report back what that is.

 

If you can't get to that screen, then someone else is gonna have to give you advice...

I assume you meant "Take your DVD out" which I tried, and no go. It goes straight to the blinking cursor no matter when I start holding F8. I think the problem is that the bootloader or whatever is not loaded onto the hard drive and that's why it doesn't boot correctly. I think that's why when the DVD is in, it boots fine because it's relying on the bootloader of the DVD. Any more suggestions?
