RoxSTar1968
Hello folks, I was wondering, could I use my hackintosh install DVD to install Tiger on a harddrive and then install it in my Powermac G4? I tried to boot off of the DVD in the G4 but the disc wasn't recognized. Any help? I tried to boot off of the DVD in the G4 but the disc wasn't recognized. Any help? the dvd was compiled for OSX86, so i dont think there is a way to get your PPC comp to use it. Azurael
Some older OSX86 disks still had the required BootX and the original ppc binary injected to make mach_kernel a unibin again so they'd work on PPC Macs. I know this because I had to use one to reinstall my 12" PB at one point while it was still alive because I couldn't find my PPC Tiger DVD. It seems from your experience that recent ones don't though (you could even just lipo -info to see if ppc code is present in mach_kernel.)
