I have a ICH9 motherboard but I get much worse disk speeds. How did you speed up yours??If I could give you a kiss right now I would!!!hahaYour setting in bios took my disk speed from 10 points in xbench to 74 points!!THANKS SOOO MUCH!//OlofAnother problem I have is that when I installed the combo update my cpu-speed fell like hell.I have a q6600 and in 10.4.8 it was displayed correctly but in 10.4.9 it's not, How can I fix that??//OLOF

Great Config as you have SLEEP working which i really need !

I'm just a bit scared about disk performance

P35 ICH9 seeme a bit slower ? ! for sequentiel 4k, strange :thumbsup_anim:

How is it possible ? because of AHCI mode ?

Does anyone has better perf with P35 ?

What is your BIOS version?

What are your BIOS settings?

What filesystem do you use?

How is your HDD partitioned (how many partitions, what partition sizes)?

Is your HDD connected to the orange or purple SATA connectors?

I don't know, I'm running 10.4.9 uphuck 1.4i updated to 10.4.10.

Also passed cocktail and repaired permissions

If you need any other information, please tell me!

Reinstalled with slightly different configuration, repaired permissions. It gained 6 points in HDD test (see updated post #1), but still far behind your results :)

Hi, I have a DS3P, and get similar result as yours.

I just wanna:

How did you update to 10.4.10?

Which version you used?

After update, any steps need to do?

Is it safe?

Thank U.

Hi!, the update is from netkas and PascalW (I think) and it's automatic, just run the intaller, restart and violá ;)

So is it that you use another update that can make your disks so much faster?

Or is it actully the drive your using, Western Digital 500gb model AAKS SATA II, that makes the difference?

One more question.

Do you have another drive installed in the computer?

If you use that drive in zbench, what do you get?

//Olof

maybe AAKS is faster... i got

with a 320GB AAKS... also had a 320GB 7200.10, but i think it was much slower in the random disk test sections...

I will buy a aaks today and try to come to a conclusion

I am looking forward to your results! It really sems that the Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 "AS" series are slower than WD "AAKS" series, especially on random access. Seagate's "NS" series should be faster than "AS" disks.

Intresting, but you can't compair osx86 operations to windows operations, though osx86 isen't working fully with ICH9a yet..

I have a GA-P35-DQ6 board and will do a xbench benchmark of the AAKS, SAMSUNG SPINPOINT, SEAGATE and A RAPTOR 150mb 10.000rpm this weakend.

I hope that I will se big difference between Raptors, aaks and the others
