iDisk is driving me insane!

OK, so here is a perplexing on for me, after almost every update 4.8, 4.9, 4.10, my iDisk stops working. Usually I just run the SMB repair program MPIP103_10.4.9.SMB.CIFS,APF.Fix.dmg and this corrects the problem.

 

So I recently updated my system both desktop and laptop from Uphuch 1.3 10.4.9 to 10.4.10 using the PascalW update. Amazingly my desktop iDisk did not break at all and is working fine. Unfortunately that is not the case with the laptop. I ran the fix as I usually do and I am still getting a mirror agent crash when I try to start iDisk syncing (Address Book, Calendar, etc.. all sync fine).

 

Could someone possibly point me in the direction of some ideas that might help fix this. I am very dependant on my iDisk for keeping data shared between my machines. Please help me before I finally iSnap.

I had some troubles with my iDisk after updating to 10.4.10 but that was fixed when I ran diskutility, webdav iirc had wrong permissions set, so now it works fine again.

 

Uphuck 1.2 install updated with pascalW amd package iirc.

Could maybe copying MirrorAgent.app from the working system to the non working one, be something to try?

Thanks for the tip, but unfortunately no such luck. Both versions (desktop - working, lappy - not) were exactly the same. Just to be sure I deleted the copy off my laptop, emptied trash, copied the version from my desktop, repaired permissions, and rebooted and....still the exact same crash.

to me the output spells kernel problem. so try reinstalling the kernel.

I would go with the kernel explanation if not for the fact I was running the exact same distro on my desktop and am having none of the .Mac problems.

i do remember when apple had their 2nd gen Ibooks out that the airport card slot would go bad causing airport apps to fail just like yours is.

so maybe some peice of hardware related to the idisk is having problems.

 

also look at the extensions the app uses and make sure all dependecies are satisfied.

Anyone found a solution to this? I'm having the same issue on 10.4.10.

 

I've tried the smb fix and repairing perms.

 

Works fine on the MBP (obviously) but I get a MirrorAgent crash on my hack.

If a solution has been found, no one has bothered to share it. I simply gave up and am hoping a more mature kernel will fix whatever the root cause of this issue is.

Hmmm - i know in previous kernels there has been fixes related to isync, idisk and .mac services so maybe there is definite issue in the current 10.4.10 kernel and as you say we will have to wait until a new one is released.
