  1. When trying to install SL on Workstation 7 i get this error when booting the VM. Mac OS X is not supported with software virtualization. To run Mac OS X you need a host on which VMware Workstation supports hardware virtualization. I thought that machines with c2d did support hardware virtualization EDIT: found out mine doesn't so i ordered one that did.
  2. im a little confused, if i burn this cd do i have to use this cd to boot into leopard? even if i add chameleon and dsmos will i still have to use this cd to load kexts from the img file?
  3. most compatible mac pc

im looking for a small computer to run hackintosh on. i will use boot132 so the pc will have to be super compatible. i read about the dell mini 9 and it seems like a good choice. are there any others?
  4. Leopard on an old dell?

I want to try to install IPC 10.5.6 on an older dell with a pentium 4. im pretty shure all hardware will operate but what about using pc_efi or chameleon? i cant seem to find any information on wether those will work. in turn if they dont then efi strings and injectors wont work.
  5. i used IPC 10.5.6 with PPF5. yes qe/ci as well as QEGL. the only drivers that work for this card are NVDarwin. NVkush does not see the model number and reports it as 256mb and NVinject does not enable QE/CI. im going to work on correct EFI strings for the card and hopefully we wont need drivers at all.
  6. so finally its possible to do this. everything is supported except pc cards, the modem, and wireless. wireless is no big issue because you can pop another one in as it has two mini pc clots. ill probrably be updating this with a guide but man this thing runs fast.
  7. About share a folder?

first off i dont think a mac will boot without a gpu. second if it even does boot you will need a way to get on the mac a create sharing folders.
  8. I bought a broken mac...

when you reset the pram you are basically restoring the computers settings to the way it was when it was originally purchased. pram contains the following info Port Configuration and Port definition Alarm clock setting Application font Serial printer location Autokey rate Autokey delay Speaker volume Attention (beep) sound Double-click time Caret blink time (insertion point rate) Mouse scaling (mouse speed) Startup disk Menu blink count Monitor depth 32-bit addressing Virtual memory RAM disk Disk cache to reset it follow these steps Shut down the computer. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4. Turn on the computer. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time. Release the keys. Your computer's PRAM and the NVRAM are reset to the default values. The clock settings may be reset to a default date on some models.
  9. I bought a broken mac...

i did a little googleing and i dont think you need to on the macbook so my post was worthless. try hooking a windows usb keyboard to usb and resetting the pram. or maybe test out the ram in another machine?
  10. I bought a broken mac...

macs do not post. they use efi technology and actually do not have bioses. also i believe a monitor still has to be attached to the laptop for it to boot. if not your at least going to need a keyboard to press the monitor switch button
  11. Buying first mac

that makes the imac appeal much more to me. do they make cases for the imac? last computer i owned got very beat up because it was too big for a case
  12. Buying first mac

so sometime soon im buying my first mac. now my problem is that im stuck between a maxed out 15 inch MBP or a maxed imac. basically i will be mostly using garageband and photoshop and i will be taking toa friends house ocassionally to record our bands material. i used to drag my custom pc full atx tower to his house so i still consider the imac semi portable. i will also play some occasional games such as WoW or Halo. if it was your choice what would you get and why?
  13. Itunes

I just put 10.4.11 on an older PC that cant run leopard and everything works fine except videos in itunes. i hear audio just no video plays. i believe it has something to do with this PC only having SSE2 but I'm not sure.
