As i understand the file is a geman file that will fix the issue with cs3 crashing at launch. As i understand the file is a geman file that will fix the issue with cs3 crashing at launch. Thanks If you have the volume dmg of CS3 and haven't applied any patches yet, try this instead. Here is a link to v1.0.6 of AppleSMBIOS.kext. Replace your current version (save it just in case this doesn't work for you) with this one and correct permissions in disk utility. Reboot and all of your Adobe software should work...without the need for a crack. I tried the crack and it worked okay, but won't allow you to receive updates. This does, at least for me. If you've already applied a patch, do an uninstall of the software and re-install. It's worth the extra time. I then went and upgraded with PascalW's 10.4.10 all photoshop apps broke. The kext from BJ (above) it. pet1 Posted July 3, 2007 Share Posted July 3, 2007 How do u extract the kext from the dvd? My problem is, when I use 1.06. My about this mac doesn't work right. It works, but where it says hardware, it says there was an error gathering information. But if I use like applesmbios 1.01, it detects the hardware but certain apps don't work. So is there an applesmbios that does both? I've read good things about version 1.09. Know where it can be found? tomdabomb Posted July 27, 2007 Share Posted July 27, 2007 i think i have a problem. i replaced the old .kext with the v1.0.6 of AppleSMBIOS.kext then i repaired disk permissions and rebooted. when it starts back up i get a blue screen then after about a minute i get a message at the top of the screen that says: "Launchd:can't get/dev/console for controlling terminal:Operation not permitted" i must have done something seriously wrong. anyone know if i can fix this? Once copied, go to your disk utility and repair permissions. Then just reboot and all should work well. Triplany Posted September 11, 2007 Share Posted September 11, 2007 Egarim: Only thing that works for me with my amd is: #1 find and use the crack or if you can't find a crack (I wasn't able to for all the apps) run the app in rosetta mode if it's available (again some adobe apps are intel only) . I tried everything 3 or 4 smbios, netowork kexts you name it. I think there is just a problem with them on AMD's.
