Hi all

I've been thinking about upgrading my mobo to a 945 series mATX board. I need to know if

The variant with: D945GTPLR:

-sigmatel 9223 (with optical out) works. (dont care about the optical, but need to know about main audio out.)

-The included Intel LAN 10/100 is supported?

-Intel matrix raid working?

-The firewire working?

This board is reported to support all the way up to the conroe chips, which is part of the reason for upgrading, incase anyone is wondering. Also want Gma 950, SATA 2, fw, raid possibilities and of course, compatibility with a dual core proc.

I am partial to an intel board b/c of, well a new found loyalty! I have been impressed with their product coming from the mac side.

If anyone is running one of the other variants, please post your experience. The other board am considering is the plainest 945GTPL. The HCL page has little to no info on Intel branded 945 mobo's.

TIA

use board in my signature, works seamlesly in every aspect.

but as I see on intel product page there are 2 models with 5.1 or 7.1 audio

6-channel (5.1) audio subsystem with three analog audio outputs using the Sigmatel 9220* audio codec is the right choice - 9223 is NOT working in OSX .

Hi, folks.

I need your help on sound/Sigmatel 9220. Here's my system info:

Mobo: Intel 945GNTLKR (i945/GMA950/Sigmatel 9220/Intel 1000Lan/1394 all in one).

CPU: Pen 4 630 (NX/PAE)

I installed native using 8F1111, just replacing oah files with Maxxuss TPM solution, and then upgraded to 8F1111A/G also using Maxxuss package.

Install went without any single problem, it gives me perfect QE/CI, network and 1394 works fine.

However, I do not have sound - I scanned the forum and added 0x10ec0882 to AppleAzaliaAudio.kext/Contents/Info.plist but it still does not work.

I also added vendor/device ID as 0x76808384 to AzaliaController.kext/Contents/Info.plist but no success.

Please enlighten me - sound is the only one that's not working for me right now.

Thanks in advance.

Edit : After rebooting 2 - 3 times, volume control appeared in the menu bar. Computer's front AND back pannel speaker jack does not give any sound output, but REAR line-out jack produces sound. Bit strange as in Win XP both speaker jacks work. Still, System Profiler shows "No information found" on Audio (Built In). Is this normal? :D

Yes, it is normal behaviour of this soundcard on OSX.

ah what a fool.. wish i'd read this before i ordered my new mobo...

sigmatel 9223 on my GTP. damn.

recommendations for alternatives in PCI flavour? CMI?

USB soundblaster is working afaik

and there is support for cmi also - search the wiki for working soundcard models.

(for macosx_10.4.3_8f1111_for_dtk_userdvd.dmg)

For all the folks reporting they have no sound...try plugging your speakers into Line In or Mic in. There is something about OS X that causes the audio ports to switch up for lack of a better term. Don't have the link handy but if you search win2osx.net there is a good thread discussing it. I was banging my head against the wall cause I saw OS X recognized the audio, but I was still getting no sound. Move my speakers from the green plug (line-out) to blue plug (line-in) and low and behold music from the heavens!
