Specifically, what is the difference between the AMD SSE2 kernel, the Universal Kernel-1, the Universal Kernel-2, and the Universal Kernel-3? frizbot Posted June 25, 2007 Share Posted June 25, 2007 I'll help by bumping as well. For Intel, there's an SSE2 kernel, an SSE3 one, and an SSE3 one with speedstep. phee Nom Tracks Posted August 23, 2007 Share Posted August 23, 2007 wel i figure that the universal kernels have all the instructions for sse2 and sse3 cpus instead of just one or the other, for the users who arent sure. if this is in fact the case then that means that the sse3 kernel is tuned to be faster on sse3 cpus and vice versa Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
