bgrau
Jas, I tried your patch to upgrade from 10.4.3 b1099, to b1111, it works great with vmware 5, performance improves when I removed AppleTPMACPI.kext from System>Library>Extensions... Well done dude, I will now try it to confirm it has Altivec support Billy proud owner of a MAC mini & ibook 14" Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5327-ppf-patch-for-8f1111this-patch-is-for-sse3-systems-without-nxdx/#findComment-33876 Share on other sites

VasH
The installation worked for me without problem! But there are some issue: ITunes doen't start, it says "Can't start ITunes Error -50" Moreover I think i've made a big mistake: I've changed in the system preferences the boot partition to the winxp one, thinking the bootloader would have worked (i have the file chain0 and the modified boot.ini - with 10.4.1 it worked with no problem). Instead if I select MacOSX in the bootloader it return to the selection screen again and again, and it works only if I selct winxp. Some ideas? VasH
OK I've reinstalled from the DVD, and I'm in the same situation: MacOSX boot automatically. ITunes doesn't work (Unknown Error -50) Some issues with the graphics (for example when i scroll web pages) My Graphics Card appears as PCI but it is AGP. Had I to modify something after installation? Or mac should work fine with dvd patched with ppf? Had I to modify something after installation? Or mac should work fine with dvd patched with ppf? These are all known issues - with the exception of the iTunes (I'm using the 6.0 ppc version and it works fine), I have the exact issues you do. To stop OS X from booting automatically, you can edit /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist as root (sudo). The file should look like this: com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> Kernel mach_kernel Kernel Flags Boot Graphics Yes Graphics Mode 1280x1024x32@85 In the Kernel Flags section you can insert -v or any of the other boot flags. A new one that seems to have a good effect - at least in my testing is -f=3 this seems to speed up the overall system and if you search, you'll find the xbench tests to prove it. Hope this helps... PS - I hate the mouse track business and would love to find a solution, but it appears that the ATI driver is at fault - nothing to do there until the next release... VasH
I've corrected ITunes issue. I had to uncheck all the languages but english in the preferences. Now i gonna try to add -f=3 to the boot.plist. But what -f=3 means? anyway thank for your help Edited December 4, 2005 by VasH Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5327-ppf-patch-for-8f1111this-patch-is-for-sse3-systems-without-nxdx/#findComment-33967 Share on other sites
urbanmac
Hi all, I just tried this and its working in VMWare - fantastic Great work Jas. However its a bit sluggish. I removed the AppleTPMACPI.kext file and things got a big quicker but its not great. I also dont get the fancy visual effects like ripples when I add a widget, I do when using the deadmoo image and removing AppleIntel830.kext however this file is now gone! My Specs: 2.8 Celeron D AsRock P4Dual-915GL motherboard VMWare 5.5 I have 520mb RAM assign in VMWare. So now I have it installed via VMWare can I do a native install? Forgot to say iTunes is working fine Edited December 4, 2005 by urbanmac Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5327-ppf-patch-for-8f1111this-patch-is-for-sse3-systems-without-nxdx/#findComment-34086 Share on other sites
nfjinjing
It seems that I have to use only 1 cpu in vmware, or it won't boot.
