deleted_account
Right now, it's hard for me to make the decision in which video card I should buy. I found a 7300GT for around $70, but a part of me feels like it'll soon be outdated. There's a local deal for a 7900GS card by BFG for around $100 after rebate. Of course there are the others in the middle to consider. I'd like to know your suggestions, opinions, before I make the final decision. I appreciate your time in reading this. Thanks! I'd like something that would install right away, hassle-free. Should I consider aTI cards as well? (like the x1600, x1900, or x1950)?

deleted_account
Thanks for the reply. I was told that the "GS" series by nVidia aren't that good or aren't as good compared to the "GT" series. The 7900GS is actually 150 along with a 50 rebate. It'sby BFG: http://shop4.outpost.com/product/4970851 not sure if this is a good brand or not, any recommendations? I've only read one review on the HCL list that is worked well, but wasn't sure how much trouble was put through in patching... This would be the 7300GT i'm interested in: http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetai...ductCode=321078 Apparently it's equivalent to the video card of the mac pro. jedavis1
I bought this one: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...p?Sku=E145-7908 and it showed CI/QE right away, but it didn't have resolution and such, but with Diabolik's 7600 installer, it worked great. It also changed my Vista WEI score from a 2.6 to a 4.6!

BrazilMAC
Hi, I am also interested in buying a great card for the Hackintosh I am building. I am not sure what would be best, but I can say I will be working with Final Cut Studio 2 and want to get the best performance around. Any more recommendations of the best wo work with video????? Thanks PS: Take a look at this one: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo...;source=froogle Fincal Cut's Official site recommends a 7800GT. Would be the one above what I should get??? Thanks
macwanabe
The 7900 GS is way faster than the 7300 GT It is just as fast as the old 7800 GT Have access to a Mac Pro with 7300 card and it sucks, slows down Motion a lot. My Hackintosh with 7950GT is much faster. Realtime effects use the GPU and not the CPU so my 2 core is faster than the 4 core Mac Pro due to faster graphics card. You can even mod the 7900 GS or 7950 GT to a Quadro 3500 or 5500 card and beat the 4500 in the Mac Pro

Thanks I forgot to mention I'll be working with final cut studio suite as well as the creative suite 3. I've been using my iMac and been working with the final cut suite, and it's quite slow, then again, i only have 512mb memory on that. anyway, what would be recommended for using those applications, that would, at the same time, be complient with osx86, as well as affordable. The only reason why I chose 7300GT at first is because it seems like it'd be the perfect match for the installation as well as the mac pro, but it sounds like either way, i'd have to patch. any thoughts? where does it say final cut recommends what video card?
