Hi,

I'm thinking about buying a new PC, and are intressted to be able to install Mac OS on it.

The parts that I'm thinking of are:

  • Asus P5N32-SLI Premium
  • Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
  • Kingston HyperX KHX6400D2LLK2/2GN 2x1024MB
  • Asus Extreme GeForce 8800GTS 320MB
  • Pinnacle PCTV 3010ix Dual Hybrid Pro PCI Express

I would be realy happy if anyone could tell me if there should be any problems and any other parts that would suit me instead.

Hi, two things, which version of OS X are you thinking of installing?

Secondly, are you planning on using SATA or IDE/ATA?

The processor sounds fine, although there have been reports of minor problems with dual-cores. Otherwise, I cant see any problems.

Oh yes, I forgot about that. A Geforce 6/7 or an ATI X1xxx should work fine. Personally I am using a cheap 9550, and with a little work it works perfectly, despite occasional mouse tearing which has been fixed with mighty mouse. Not sure if this will help, but I had also experienced problems with DVI output, so i am using analogue. I hope I was of help to you.

I'm thinking about OS X 10.4... is it any problems using S-ATA? Is it better to use Radeon graphiccards? In that case maby Asus P5W DH Deluxe i975X is a better motherboard?

Looks great although you can also look at the nvidia cards, since they seem to be supported better these days.

Ok, but not 8800 right? Is Asus Extreme GeForce 7950GT 512MB DDR3 a better choice?

Does OS X support Crossfire or SLI??
