dsc106 Posted May 30, 2007 Share Posted May 30, 2007 When I click on software update, I see there are some security updates, iTunes, quicktime, etc. Well... using a cracked install on a Hackintosh, what is safe to update and what is not safe to update? Danyel Posted May 30, 2007 Share Posted May 30, 2007 Hi dsc106: Please do *not* run the Security Updates from Software Update because they are designed for real Mac's running unhacked versions of OS X. Your computer may not boot up after performing updates. I attempted to run update from 10.4.5 to 10.4.6 and my PC would not boot up after the update (!) Perhaps someone could start a genius bar thread tracking software updates and whether or not they are safe to install on Hackintoshes and if any special installation procedures are needed.
