What? I was being serious! It's called Atmospheric Refraction (I think).

 

Well I don't see how the air can refract light in such a manner as to disperse the entire spectrum on usual occasions. It may bend light as light passes from vacuum into air, but I'm not sure if it would allow us to see the entire spectrum. However, water droplets, which are everywhere, would refract light and disperse it into the colors of the spectrum, in the phenomenon known as rainbows.

Ok, I'll give you that - a green sunset (AKA green flash) only lasts for a second and is usually only viewed from space, but it does happen. :(
