z4t0
This is possibly a silly question, and a luxury question... I am about to build my first hackintosh, so after a few weeks of research on this forum i purchased a badaxe 2 mobo, and a intel e6600 cpu, from before i had 2 gb corsair ram and a xfx 7900 gt 256mb ram grafic card plus my beloved dell 3007 30" monitor before i start building, i am wondering if i can get 2560x1600 resolution supported? been reading a few different perspectives, so i am a little confused.. i am just trying to remove as much troubleshooting as i can, thank you z4t0
sarahbau
I don't have a 30" monitor to test on (well, I have a 43" DLP, but it's only 1280x720 lol), but so far I haven't found a resolution that isn't supported. My hackintosh shows all the same resolutions for my monitor that my PowerBook did. At first you will be at 1024x768, but once you get drivers for the 7900GT installed, my guess is everything will be fine.

crashnburn_in
the only reason i am using the onboard gma950 is because my 8800gtx is not supported by apple YET. visit the wiki to see the list of supported pci-express graphics cards. i saw a 7800gt running on an osx86 pentium D box really well.... and pushing a 30-inch dell at 2560x1600. (From another forum) Which PCIe / PCI Express / PCI X card (s) have driver support for 2560 x 1600 resolution on a Leopard or Snow Leopard? Which PCIe / PCI Express / PCI X card (s) have driver support for 2560 x 1600 resolution on a Leopard or Snow Leopard? It could be any brand. NVidia, ATI or other. Preferably it can fit an Advanced Dock for T61. As I understand it, I will need a full-height, half-length PCIe video card. Please advise. Thanks.
