I think that the FOSS community needs to deal with the chip on it's shoulder about closed-source software; accept that not everybody shares your ideology and embrace that face. Microsoft and Apple don't stick big warnings about using 'restricted, open source drivers' in their software, so why should the reverse be true?

People complain about Linux not being newbie friendly. That might be partly true, also depending on the distribution.

But once you have learned, Linux is the easiest and most flexible OS to use and administer.

and if you can code you can pretty much change it to do whatever
