chiklit
Hi. I managed to get OS X booted and generally working fine at speeds better then the G5 iMac we have at school. However for some reason I am unable to write to the harddrive, and thus can't save anything not even system settings. I got the image working by using winhex to copy the image onto my 2nd harddrive and then booted it by making it the first boot disk in the bios but it won't let me write to any of the drives from within OS X. Any ideas? ---Specs--- Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (Venice Core) Memory: 768mb (1 - 512mb PC2700, 1 - 256MB PC2100) Video: nVidia 5600 FX 128mb Audio: Realtek AC97 Harddrives: 2 - 80gb Maxtor 7200rpm (OS X resides on one of these.) 1 - 120gb Maxtor 7200rpm 1 - External 128gb USB 2.0 Drive Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/501-os-x-running-but-not-able-to-write-to-hd/ Share on other sites

chiklit
I tried that but it doesn't work because DiskUtility keeps saying 'Invalid Parameters' when it trys to change them. As for the actual errors I get when I try to download something with Safari it says 'Unable to create file.' TextEdit says 'Unable to save file.'
