  1. Fermi 5XX works with Lion DP4/GM!

Is anybody else having issues with freezing or glitches? I've noticed after running for a day or so suddenly a bunch of black boxes start covering the screen with any new window until the whole screen is black and I have to restart. Also a lot of 3D apps either crash themselves or cause the entire system to freeze. Specifically BIT.TRIP BEAT freezes on start, while Second Life causes the whole system to freeze. I haven't tried it with my other games from Steam yet. EDIT: I'm not sure if this is actually the fix but after switching to Chimera v1.4.1 r877 as a bootloader instead of Chameleon v2.0-RC5 r1083 and turning off Graphics Enabler the crashing from Second Life and BIT.TRIP BEAT seem to have stopped.
  2. Fermi 5XX works with Lion DP4/GM!

I'm currently using Chameleon v2.0-RC5 r1083 as the boot loader. I installed the .kexts with kext helper b7 but I haven't repaired them at all. I remember at one point as I was restarting I got a popup saying some extension wasn't installed properly and needed to be reinstalled but it closed before I got a chance to read it all. I'll update after I've tried repairing the kexts. EDIT: Looks like repairing the kexts fixed it. Thanks a bunch.
  3. Fermi 5XX works with Lion DP4/GM!

I've tried every which way I could find to get my GTX 570 to work in Lion or Snow Leopard and I still can't seem to get anything to work. I followed the above instructions and inserted the ID for the GTX570 into the plist, and I did the netkas OpenCL patch as well as installing ATY_Init. But I still get no acceleration, and I can't even get it to recognize any resolution other than 1600x1200 (my monitor is 1920x1200). ATY_Init appears to load but says something like "The 1081 card already has keys sent.". My card also appears with the correct information in the System Profiler. Is there anything else I can do? I'm using a legit copy of the GM I have from the developer program if that matters. Motherboard: ASUS P5Q Pro Processor: Core 2 Quad Q9550 GPU: eVGA GeForce GTX570
  4. Mine seems to install and boot fine, but it's stuck at the Welcome screen. I go through the initial configuration with the registation and setting up my user account, and it gets to "Creating account" but then loops back to the Welcome screen where you select the language. It seems to be creating the account cause if I try and go through it again it and try to set it up with the same account name it says it's not available. Audio is working, graphics is wrong resolution, networking is not working. Motherboard: ASUS P5Q Pro Graphics: nVidia GeForce 570GTX CPU: Core 2 Quad EDIT: I was able to log in by going into single user mode and adding the .AppleSetupDone file, however all of the user accounts I setup while looping in the Welcome screen are setup as standard users instead of admins and none of them have folders in the /User/ folder.
  5. Just tried installing it on 10.5.8. It appeared to install correctly but on rebooting the bootloader was still the old version. It doesn't seem to have broken anything other than it turned all of my drive icons orange... But the bootloader seems to have not been updated.
  6. Hi. I've gotten OS X installed and everything seems to be working well. However, there's an issue I'm curious about. In the system profiler under hardware it says that there was an error and my system is referred to as "system-product-name". I looked around and found that the problem may be related to the AppleSMBIOS. Currently I'm using a vanilla AppleSMBIOS.kext with a smbios.plist in Chameleon 2's /Extras folder. It appears to be loading it because the values I set for the RAM appear in the RAM section of the System Profiler, but I can't seem to get it to recognize any sort of model for my computer. Here's my specs as well as what my smbios.plist and system profiler looks like. Motherboard: ASUS P5Q PRO (Using modified BIOS) Chipset: Intel P45 System: OS X 10.5.7 running vanilla kernel (Originally installed iDeneb 1.4 10.5.6 then updated using Apple's standard update) CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 GPU: nVidia GeForce 8800 GTX 768mb (using nvinject) <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>SMbiosversion</key> <string>MP31.88Z.00C1.B00.0802091544</string> <key>SMmanufacter</key> <string>Apple Inc.</string> <key>SMproductname</key> <string>MacPro3,1</string> <key>SMsystemversion</key> <string>1.0</string> <key>SMserial</key> <string>W87234JHYA4</string> <key>SMexternalclock</key> <string>333</string> <key>SMmaximalclock</key> <string>2836</string> <key>SMmemtype</key> <string>19</string> <key>SMmemspeed</key> <string>800</string> <key>SMmemmanufacter_1</key> <string>G.SKILL</string> <key>SMmemserial_1</key> <string>0x00001020</string> <key>SMmempart_1</key> <string>F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ</string> <key>SMmemmanufacter_3</key> <string>G.SKILL</string> <key>SMmemserial_3</key> <string>0x00003021</string> <key>SMmempart_3</key> <string>F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ</string> </dict> </plist> This doesn't appear to be negatively affecting how OS X runs in any way, but it'd be nice to not have my PC show up as "Kevin Vinck's System Product Name" on the network on my iMac and MacBook Pro.
  7. Screensavers Issue (Kalyway)

Just to chime in, I'm having this issue too. Distro: iDeneb 1.4 (10.5.6) Mobo: EVGA nForce 680i CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 GPU: XFX GeForce 8800 GTX
