I've been reading threads on here for a couple of weeks and for a few hours today and the more I read the more confused I get.

I have installed succcessfully using the guide on http://www.osx86.theplaceforitall.com/howto/ - My installation used tiger-x86.tar.bz2 file as in the instructions and it worked perfectly - I assume this is a Native install?

So I can run 10.4.1 on my Intel box.

The bit I dont get is all the patches, the 10.4.3 upgrades etc.

I have just grabbed macosx_10.4.3_8f1111_for_dtk_userdvd.dmg image - so in simple as pie English can someone give me some instructions on what I do next!

I assume this image will not run as it needs to converted to an ISO, then patched, then I burn the ISO to DVD and boot from it it on my Intel box.

Is that correct??

The guy who wrote http://www.osx86.theplaceforitall.com/howto/ mad e it so simple now its jsut getting confusing!

Thanks

Yep read his site so the 8f111 is a dvd image for Apple developers that is not patched?

lokking on EDIT: Removed content violating DMCA a search for OSx86 gives 13 different torrents with 6 of them being versions od OS X for x86

Thanks scousi, followed your instructions to get a working copy of OS X in VMWare :)

2 things to add to your instructions - steps 5 and 6 - initially I mounted the ISO directly in VMWare which caused a 'panic' - solved by mounting the drive in DaemonTools and then pointing VMWare at the mounted drive.

Step 9 - I didn't really understand this - there didn't seem to be an option to specify a kernel - I had the options of pressing enter to install normally, with -v for verbose install or -? for help. Choosing -v worked for me :(

Cheers, Ben
