Hey there,

I installed build 8f1099 with the iso patcher by Maxxuss (thnx dude!!). Now I would like to use the new ATI drivers from build 8f1111 on my 8f1099 installation. I've searched the forum, but couldn't find an answer whether this works or not so I'd like to give it a try. I've downloaded the 8f1111 image so if someone can explain me how to extract the ATI kexts and where I can find them on the DVD I will be glad to share them!

Update EDIT: didn't work for my card but if anyone else wants to try: [Removed for DMCA compliance]

It works. I only took ATIRadeon.kext and ATIRadeon9700.kext from the 1111 and used it on the 1099. No diffeerence as I can see. You might want to compare changes in file sizes before commiting changes. I did this in hopes to remove the trailer block from the mouse. Still there :D.

Yeah I found where the kexts are. Unfortunately it doesn't work for me. But I guess that's my card not being supported. I have a Radeon X300. I tried adding my card id to the plist and it tries to load the driver. It only succeeds if I do NOT copy over the ATIRadeon9700GA.plugin file to the extensions folder. Problem is you don't get any QE or CI support this way. When I do move all that file (along with the other 9700 bundle files) I get this little black/white striped box in the upper left corner when OS X is booting and tries to load the driver.

Anyways, if anyone else wants to try: [Removed to Comply with DMCA]
