Hello,

I have gotten hold of osx86 but am having problems getting started. I wanted to ask if someone could help me by walking me through all the stuff having to do with partitions and that kind of stuff ? I would really aprreciate any help.

Sincerely,

Alex

thanks for the link but can you clear one thing up please ?

what is "resizing a partition" is it possible for me to lose data if i do this ,also, i have norton partition magic and when im about to resize it, the program says "this partition crosses the 1024 cylinder boundary and may not be bootable". could anybody explain this to me. im pretty sure this info isnt on http://wiki.osx86project.org/ .

sincerely

alex

almost forgot image is 10.4.6

@Alexmondragon: I think you need some good basic info on PC's, bro, but explaining how partitions and hard drives work is really far beyond the scope of this forum. Try searching wikipedia.com for "partition" and/or "partitioning" and "hdd" or "hard drive". The descriptions there are very detailed and easy to understand. Then try following one of the tutorials on wiki.osx86project.org if you're serious about installing mac on your PC.

Just one tip: partitioning will most likely erase your data, so MAKE A BACKUP!

Before you do anything backup everything on a DVD or something external because there is every chance you may loose your data if you try and partition your HDD. OSX's Disk Utilities isn't being too friendly with me right now so just a friendly warning.

Also 10.4.8 images are available now but you will still need to partition in either case.
