beefon
I think it is APIC problem, isn't it? I have some errors in Linux too, but it works fine. They doesn't make any influence. But in Mac OS X they do. Maybe i'm wrong. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/47281-1048-kernel-panic/#findComment-338986 Share on other sites

Zizou
Don't boot from teh DVD (assuming the problem is with the HDD installation..) Boot with the -v -s flags (will cause single user boot, sorta command line like console will appear.) Then, type something like 'cd /system/library/extensions/' then something like 'rm -rf /AppleIntelCPUPowerManagment.kext' (I'm not to sure about this command, maybe '-rf' has to be replaced with something else, like -f or whatever. I'm an Unix n00b ) EDIT sorry, just re-read and figured the DVD doesn't boot. sorry can't help you guys out I'm afraid Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/47281-1048-kernel-panic/#findComment-339265 Share on other sites

I want to try to disable loading ApplePS2Controlller, because it is in Debugger backtrace. Maybe something wrong with it. Dr. Hurt
You will not be able to boot with the new kernel as long as you have the cpu power kext. Try booting with the old kernel if you have backed it up. If you haven't backed it up, then boot into windows and use mac drive (program) to remove the kext. The kext is in the system>library>extensions Just go there and delete it Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/47281-1048-kernel-panic/#findComment-339827 Share on other sites
beefon
...boot into windows and use mac drive (program) to remove the kext. How do i can remove this kext if i haven't installed MAc OS X? It there any application that allow to remove Mac OS X files directly from ISO-image? Hello again, i using TransMac and it seems that it can remove files from ISO images. But where is ApplePS2Controller? There's no Systen/Library/Extensions, there is files named Extensions.mkext, and i guess that all extensions are inside it, but TransMac is not able to open it. Any solutions? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/47281-1048-kernel-panic/#findComment-340540 Share on other sites

Neo-Keledai
Do you want to say that i should try to use 10.4.7 ISO? Please, what full name of it? Befoon, from what I saw couple threads above, I think you have problems with the ISO Mac OSx 10.4.8. If you can't boot then something are wrong with the DVD device (i.e. DVD-Rom, or DVD RW etc) OR the media itself (the disc). I have problems in the past first time I d/l the ISO for version 10.4.6. I d/l from internet, and found that the disc is defect. The result I found because after booting it is stuck on the grey screen with apple logo, and then there is red circle. I also have experience with the drive that doesn't support. I use the DVD-combo that couldn't boot at all. I assume that because the disc can be boot in other machine/laptop that have different DVD devices. The error message was: "apple.list not found" FYI, I have 4 ISO Mac OS 10.4.6 and 2 are working and 2 not working. So consider to d/l another ISO, burn it in DVD+/-RW (so you can erase if it doesn't work) and try again...... And if you have other machine, consider to try the disc.... If successfull in other machine but not in your machine, meaning there is problems in dvd device... could be the dvd device, or could be apic problems Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/47281-1048-kernel-panic/#findComment-343104 Share on other sites
beefon
Hi, i tried to install OSX to another laptop and it was working normally. So the disc is ok. I think my dvd device is ok too because i never had problems with it and it is relatively new (i'm using it for about 1/2 year). I think it is either APIC or ApplePS2Controller.kext problem. Thanks for replies! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/47281-1048-kernel-panic/#findComment-351509 Share on other sites

beefon
Hello again, i have tried cpus=1, cpu=1, noapic, noacpi, and all flags for semthex kernel (all frequencies), nothing. Once dvd was detected my firewire, and once it had even detected USB controllers, accessed my hdd for a very-very-very short moment, but then... kernel panic with ApplePS2Controller in debugger. Guest Ramm
So it doesn't even boot to the DVD? Have you set the DVD as the boot device? Is it a master drive? Does it give any error messages? beefon
My DVD on 2nd IDE channel, master. My HDD on 1st channel, master too. It doesn't boot to installer. I see "If yu want to change setting press F8" or something like it, i pressed it, tried a lot of combinations with boot parameters, then - kernel panic. All error messages are described below.
