some people have no trouble installing the radeon x1300 256mb pro. The install recognizes it with QE & CI but there tend to be resolutions problems, which seem to be easily resolved by natit drivers. Diabolik has been working on x1x00 kext files and has released them including one for the x1300. My x1300 hasn't been so lucky, it's a pulled card from a dell optiplex and I'm having the worst time getting it to work, best I got was max resolution without QE or CI which blows. anyway here is diabolik's threads: My Natit Site, Diabolik's x1600kext. hope this helps some

i had x1300 pro 256mb install natit after 8.8.1 kernel upgrade to get qe/ci but no resolution change.. so had to edit boot.plist then lateri switch 7300gs not a huge different in performanace but on the mac osx its alot more stable and usable.. qe/ci full resolution change.

can we all start posting deviceIDs in the future, I'm guilty also. It'll make knowing what works and what doesn't easier.

mine's:

Radeon X1300 Series:

Chipset Model: Radeon X1300 Series

Type: Display

Bus: PCIe

VRAM (Total): 256 MB

Vendor: ATI (0x1002)

Device ID: 0x7183

Here's my card, reschange works but high contrast and no QE/CI:

Radeon X1300 Series:

Chipset Model: Radeon X1300 Series

Type: Display

Bus: PCIe

VRAM (Total): 256 MB

Vendor: ATI (0x1002)

Device ID: 0x7183

If I manually add the Device ID to ATIRadeonX1000.kext the system kernel panics.

ddew - that's the exact same thing that happens to me...if you come across any solution please PM, I'll do the same if I find anything.

I have tried diabolik's natitx1300.kext and it's a no go. v2 causes bootup to start at the login startup phase (i never actually get past the apple spinning logo, or startup in verbose mode)

Been messing around with the various .kext's out there and the best I can get is resolution change without any acceleration at all. Video playback won't work although the display seems faster than VESA. I'm starting to wish that there were GMA X3000 drivers available so I could use my integrated video instead. :thumbsup_anim:

My X1300 (non PRO) info

Radeon X1300

Chipset Model: Radeon X1300 Series

Type: Display

Bus: PCIe

VRAM (Total): 256 MB

Vendor: ATI (0x1002)

Device ID: 0x7187

Hope this helps

Does your card work? resolution changable? QE&CI supported? if so what method did you use, natit drivers, borisbadenov, diabolik kexts? thanx

Hey, I have devID 7183 too...Can't get it to work at all, my installation DVD has X1X00 PCI-E drivers, I tried modifying the kext with my device ID but kernel panic as listed in posts above...Been PMing DiaboliK and no joy still (he suggests flashing the BIOS to another version but I searched online and couldn't find much, plus it's risky...) I've got a Dell Dimension 9200 aka XPS 041, this beast can't wait for OSX...If only I could get it working! I can't access USB drive with single user mode, and am unsure of how to copy files anyway (I'm new to this Darwin/OSX86 business, reminds me of the good ol' days of MS-DOS 3.11)...Any help much appreciated!

Forgot to mention, my machine reboots after spinning wheel screen...verbose mode shows 'display: specific family matching failed'
