spartan015
Ok so I accidently wiped the hard drive (truly accidently) when I partitioned the drive i forgot to lock it so it wiped the hard drive. Problem is the only OS i have is Mac OS 10.4.8 when the OS i had was 10.4.7 but it won't install. An error pops up tells me I have to restart or start disk... the dvd reads, and everything, do I need to get the OEM? or can I put it in my friend's macbook (his OS) my hard drive, and install it and then run it on mine? The thing is his is the black 13inch while mine is the 1.8ghz macbook... I don't have any money to buy a new OEM OS so any suggestions will help, temporarily I have Windows XP Pro on it, you don't need boot camp if you have the drivers... spartan015
that doesn't work. i have the installation cds, but i don't have the ones that came with my macbook, i don't know where they went lol, hell i lost a copy of windows xp but have the cd key so it works out as i have more then one of xp copy. but i don't have other copies of mac os, i'm borrowing this one from a friend, but the version was different (when i had an os). his is 10.4.8 mine was .7 and i get an error telling me i can't install and i need to reboot, but after i do that, same thing happens. i have access to like disk utlity, system profiler, and what not. so what do i do? look for a startup disk thats 10.4.7? i formatted the harddrive after i lost everything, is there a certain format i have to do that in like htsf or what ever (as like windows has the option for ntfs and fat32)? Colonel
You can call up Apple's AppleCare line and ask them to send you replacement disks for free. They sent me replacement disks when I lost my old iMac G5's reinstall DVD's.
