Jaco
Hi, Whenever I click on About this mac, it closes all programs and it looks like the GUI restarts. I am running on Jas 10.4.8. Got the same install on my Dell E1705 and it works perfectly. Now I installed it on my desktop. Seems like everything is working fine, it's just when I click on this that it seems to do this but I can't tell for sure, have not played around much with the desktop. At first I thought it was the videocard Nvidia 5200 FX that was not setup after install - artifacts and mouse tearing was very bad until I install Natit and now display works beautiful on my Dell 20" at 1680x1050. But I still have the same problem on "About this mac", so I am qlueless what the problem is. Any advice or anybody got an idea what the problem is. Thanks Jaco Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/44353-about-this-mac-not-working/ Share on other sites
WaldMeister
Replace the loginwindow.app with the file from this post: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry240053 Don't forget to repair permissions afterwards. Almost forgot, the loginwindow.app can be found in /System/Library/Coreservices Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/44353-about-this-mac-not-working/#findComment-317628 Share on other sites

gtsmith
Any help appreciated. When you guys say to boot in single user mode do you mean all the way up to the GUI or the command prompt? When I get to the command prompt, the system is mounted in read-only so I cant replace loginwindow.app. When I tried to move on and load the GUI she crapped out on me. Any ideas? -Never mind figured it out Edited March 13, 2007 by gtsmith Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/44353-about-this-mac-not-working/#findComment-322908 Share on other sites
