Ok, I feel really stupid now. I tried to format my iPod in ZFS (yes, I know, very stupid)

Anyway, now the iPod isn't mounting at all and isn't showing up in disk utility. It won't boot up at all, it seems to stuck on the black screen with silver Apple. The hard drive is spinning up an stopping suddenly.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can fix it?

It's a 80gb 5th generation

using disk utility reformat/partition it to be apple partition map (then it should be able to mount), then just restore the ipod os/firmware to it by using the ipod utility or itunes

The iPod doesn't show up in disk utility at all.

It is really worrying me, it keeps making large clunking noises

Clunking noises sounds like harddrive heads banging my first thought was HW failure? But is it now working ok again? Without Clunking noises?
