HI@all

I have a Dell Inspiron 9400(E1705) full running with Jas 10.4.8 with nebukadnezar kernel and no problems.

But a notebook isn't a notebook without wlan, so i try this 4 wlan adapters:

  1. Intel 3945 - not working
  2. Broadcom 4311 (Dell 1390) - fully working
  3. Atheros AR5006X (108Mbit) - not working
  4. Atheros AR5006EX (54Mbit) - not working

All in all the broadcom adapter is ok, but the reception is bad.The router is on the one floor and i'm surfing one floor under and have almost 10% (mac & win have the same result)

With the Atheros cards i have at windows mostly 60-70%.

I heard that some people on this board had run the AR5006EX successful. HOW DO THAT????

I try to change the settings in the Networkpreferences and also change out the kext to one from 10.4.5.

Somebody said that u need to install Airport Extreme Update from Apple... Who know the real sollution or a real alternative.

I try to use Gigabyte GN-WI01GT (atheros) but on my acer aspire 5610 don't work. Only after installed Airport Extreme update 2007.1 , inside the pachage IO80211Family.kext you will find AirPortAtheros.kext

I added vendor and device id on Info.plist and now is recognized but if i try to connect to my network system crash

<key>IOMatchCategory</key>

<string>IODefaultMatchCategory</string>

<key>IONameMatch</key>

<array>

<string>pci168c,1c</string>

<string>pci168c,23</string>

<string>pci168c,24</string>

</array>

Have you gotten the GN-WI01GT running yet? I have the same card.

I tried this as well with the 2007 update. I can see my wireless network, as well as that of my neighbors, but as soon as I connect, The system hangs.

Any help would be very much appreciated.
