For this guide you'll need:

- Lastest JAS OS X (I've used 10.4.8 Intel/AMD SSE2/3 with some ppf's)

- Mac OS X Server 10.4.7

- An internet connection or apple's 10.4.8 server updater downloaded.

- A little time.

Steps to follow:

- Install JAS OS X as you usually do..

- If you need network drivers, install 'em now.

- open server DISK/ISO/DMG and go to ./System/Installation/Packages.

- Install this packages one by one:

*ApplicationsServer.pkg

*QuickTimeStreamingServer.pkg

*ServerAdministrationSoftware.mpkg

*ServerAdminTools.pkg

*ServerEssentials.pkg

*ServerSetup.pkg

- Install the 10.4.8 server Update either via software update or via a downloaded package *DO NOT REBOOT*.

- open JAS OS X DISK/ISO/DMG and go to ./System/Installation/Packages.

- Reinstall the hacked kernel package for your plattform (intel/amd).

- Reboot and configure your server. (you'll need a serial for this, if you can, you should filter TCP port 626).

- Use prasys script to update to the lastest kernel, also you should install any drivers remaining.

- Enjoy!

Hi what update do you use for this method? Instead of using 10.4.7 i used the JaS 10.4.8 installer and then installed the Server stuff. Now when i try to run the 10.4.9 Server Updater it says the drive doesn't meet requirements for the installer to install too. Just wonder how to resolve that.
