Thanks for the read, i'm considering the same motherboard choices (BadAxe or DQ6)......i'll be reading with interest...

For me so far the Bad axe is more easily configured for osx out of the box as they say,

but i'm always up for a challenge!

Just installed 10.4.9 with the latest Semthex kernel and paulicat's 'AppleSMBIOS.kext' and 'IOATAFamily.kext'...

This combination allowed me to run the Apple HDA Patcher 1.15 to make my audio work in Semthex!

So now I have the best of both worlds (see my other thread):

maybe a little outdated - but +1 for BAD AXE ....

i've one - have no probs at all.

but i use NI Audio Kontrol 1, so i even doesn't try integrated sound.

and with DaemonES kernel - CPU speed is showing correctly.

Currently running 10.4.9 (with NetKas 8.9.1 kernel) and the latest Security Updates. Everything works perfectly.

But I still do not get the Marvell Serial ATA controller working, so I'm only able to use 4 harddisks at this moment.

Does anybody have a solution already?

Thanks,

Kasper

BTW, I upgraded the CPU to a E6600 which currently runs at 3.2Ghz.

i also like to build up a Hackintosh, based on BadAxe2 ans Q6600 (or Xeon 3210, if BadAxe2 accept it).

So, question about the SATA-Raid-Feature of BA2, does it works in OSX?

Or does the OSX-internal SoftRaid works, if Hardware-Raid isn´t possible?

Thanks to competitive reply,
