A Nonny Moose
MACSALES.COM is your friend. Why not try going to MACSALES.COM and see what they have for your tower? I'm sure MACSALES.COM can find something... Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/43413-help-with-g4/#findComment-310557 Share on other sites

I'm sure MACSALES.COM can find something... It will be a LOT cheaper to by yourself a PC card and flash it to PPC mac. For you computer the easiest and one with best price/cost ratio is the ATI 9800pro, go for the 128MB, 256bit version, 2nd hand PC ones are cheap and plentiful. Usually it takes all of 15 minutes to flash. Your 5200 will work if flashed, but it is an incredibly crappy card -why bother? As posted above all the details are on the strangedogs forum. Alucard!
I know that this has nothing to to with the graphic card but... Does anyone know if, the g4 processor will work on 10.5 os? I mean that usually when mac updates to some kind of version then they update the machine 2. How about the G4 processor? Is it still in and will be still in for some time? Or will the 10.5 run only on intel processors? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/43413-help-with-g4/#findComment-310929 Share on other sites

That's nonsense, a flashed 9800 is identical to the mac version bar the ADC port. The extra you are paying is for the mac rom that you'd flash onto the card anyway. There is no way OS or your machine can tell the difference. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/43413-help-with-g4/#findComment-313007 Share on other sites

Hokusai
HiYesterday I bugth a Mac G4, with an ATI video card with only 16 Mb. Wich card I can buy? I try to put an nVidia FX5200 and doesn't work. Any help? Tia Dave Hi, I flashed yesterday an old Asus 9520 FX5200/128M card and it works good on a G4 Sawtooth. I followed the instructions on the Strangedogs forum. Pay attention to the model of your card: I read that the slim ones cannot be flashed correctly.. (my card was a full height from an old Compaq pc). Tomorrow I will test it with a lcd display on the DVI port. All on Macos X 10.3.9 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/43413-help-with-g4/#findComment-335532 Share on other sites
