errandwolfe
I have been looking for a CHEAP TV tuner solution for an old G4 Mac I have. I recently came across a post in the forums discussing an OS X port of MythTV. I was wondering if anyone has had a chance to try this. Does it work? What hardware are you using? Adrian Fogge
As far as the MythBackend goes, the last I have heard it was stuck to only x86-variant architectures. I have been using MythFrontend on OS X for years, and it works great if you have a spare PC sitting around that you can load up with hard drives, tuner cards and the like. What MythFront gets you is the ability to view all of the content stored on the server, edit it to remove commercials, as well as act as a DistCC node for distributed transcoding to make the conversion of video from uncompressed to Xvid extremely quick. errandwolfe
Thanks Adrian, I did not realize until after your post and looking again that this was only a front end. errandwolfe
No unfortunately I was not able to really find a "cheap" solution just the higher priced main line tuners like elegato.
