pretty straight-forward i guess, but does anybody else find iDVD extremely choppy and slow when you try to make a movie. I remember back in the day when i had a powerbook G4 it would run like molasses, but you also had to look at the fact that i had an 867mhz G4. Are any of you expericing a pretty slow and unpleasant time with iDVD on your hackintoshes. I hope core animation in leopard gan give us a drastic improvement integrate with apple software.

Simple your using a ppc version of IDVD which means that IDVD is running in rosetta (PPC emulation mode) which will drastically slow your performance. Also if you GFX card hasen't been enabled for QE/CI that may also slow down Idvd. Just update to the latest version of Ilife or Idvd standalone (from places covered elseware)

me too. it doesnt like our dvd drives. i belive that they are limited to a certian speed of burning. i had a 16x dvd in my 18x drive, but i could only burn at 4x speed

I understand during the render process for it to take some time, but say the idvd 6 animation with the moving windows reflacting in a black background, there are only 2 dropzones. so i put a movie in each. After i do this and it tried to do the animation the program shows it very choppily, the whole program pretty much slow down where you have to wait a while jsut to get to the preferences. Like, say you are using ichat av and have a 3-way conversation with video, it runs smoothly with pretty mucht the same reflective effect. I just don;t get why its so hard on the computer when it comes to iDVD.
