JaS
Get the ppf's from demonoid, the patcher is a typeo there is no patcher to run all the system files are pre patched in this release. thats fixed in the ppfs. you need to use disk utility to partition the whole hdd then install os x onthe the new partitioned drive. If you can not partition the whole drive find the ppfv1 and the disk utility patch.Good luck. korrigan
I did know how to see if my processor work with SSE2 or SSE3, but I didn't know that I should select or not "SSE3" in custm instal.. When I instal osx I just select everything in this custom, except "INTEL SSE3" because my processor is an Athlon64 3700+ (core san diego).. I'm trying to do another instal while I'm writing: I am going to partition my disk in MAC OS extented "journalisé" (Mac OS étendu journalisé = in french) I don't have any problem to partition my HDD... Disk Utility seems to work fine! In custom instal I don't have any SSE3 to select, I only have "JaS intel..." or "JaS AMD.." I supose I'have to choose AMD...? or event both? I also got "X11", and do I have to select this too? I'm waiting for an answer before "INSTAL" Thank you both! And thanks also for keeping french in this disk! Guest Ramm
Alright. In the custom install, there should be two options for the kernel. One is similar to Intel.SSe2.SSe3, while the other is like AMD.SSe2.SSe3. You should choose the AMD.SSe2.SSe3. And when you say no boot, do you mean you get a kernel panic (first line: debugger called <panic>)? korrigan
Yes it's "debuger called <panic> in the first line.. th last one is "Kernel version Darwin kernel version 8.8.1: sat dec 9 22:18:27 AZOT 2006; semthex:/nebukadnezar/BUILD/obj/RElEASE_I386" Do you know the problem? Guest Ramm
Debugger called <panic> means that the kernel flipped out all over the computer. It is also called a kernel panic. Essentially, the kernel doesn't like something and it complains about it. The first time I started Jas 10.4.8 (the same one you downloaded), I got that. Like I said before, make sure you install the correct kernel version in the installation (try reinstalling it, and when you get to the screen with the install button, select Customize. Then select the proper kernel patch). korrigan
I've already reinstal os x maybe 4 or 5 times... But I will do this one more time! Could it be from hardware...? Something in my computer makes my os x won't boot? Now I'm going to reinstal the version... Do I have to select X11 in custom instal? Here's objects I select in custom instal: -Something about printer (Gestionnaire d'impression, in french) =ALL -polices supplémentaires (something about writing..) =ALL -Languages =ALL -X11 (don't know....) = YES or NO? -JaS Intel 10.4.8 ATA kexts inclued =NO -JaS AMD 10.4.8 ATA kexts inclued = YES, because my CPU is AMD athlon64 with SSE3 -Support for the most common hardware: ????????? I don't know either what I have to select... -Natit Nvidia Support = YES, I think so.... Don't you? Guest Ramm
Honestly, I don't know what could be wrong. X11 isn't required. Support for the most common hardware isn't required. Sorry, but I really can't help you anymore. Edit: Actually, try installing WITHOUT Natit nVidia support. See if that does anything. korrigan
HI ! I have some news about my instal: I can boot in Safe Mode (-x at startup options) but I still cannot boot in normal mode! The Kernel panic appears with : "panic(cpu 0 caller 0x001A3129): unresolved kernel trap (CPU 0, type 14=page fault) registers: CR0............. CR2............ CR3............. CR4................ EAX............. EBX............. ECX......... EDX................. CR2............. EBP............. ESI............. EDI................ EFL............... EIP.............. CS.............. DS................. Instead of "........." there are a lot of numbers, they all begin as "0x..." (as I underligned before) Do you know what it means? I tried several instalations with AMD, or Intel Kernel, even without.. Thank you! fireing
Well... I didn't take a picture or anything so I don't know if it is EXACTLY the same kernel panic error... but I think it is. Also, I don't remember using -x command but I DO remember using a command that the system could start in text mode so I could manage partitions (bug of vista boot loader) I'm Going to college now. I'll be waiting for some feedback. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41951-no-boot-with-jas1048amdintelsse2sse3/#findComment-303956 Share on other sites

Rapishorrid
I'm having trouble as well... except no kernel panic - the drive I installed OS X on refuses to allow my computer to even reach the BIOS or past the mobo logo even if its set to slave. Something must be seriously wrong with the JaS release Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41951-no-boot-with-jas1048amdintelsse2sse3/#findComment-304111 Share on other sites
