triggerc
After a long hiatus I've decided to get back into the OSX86 craze. So with my machine specs which installation dvd do you think would be the best for me? Asus P5W DH Deluxe, E6600, X1800XT, WD Raptor 74GB + Seagate Barracuda 320GB, IDE optical drives, ATI TV Wonder Elite, Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS. I'm guessing that there is still no support for my tv tuner and soundcard. nagal
I have a similiar system to you. I used JaS 10.4.8.SSE3.Intel.Only and use Natit_Uni for the video. Very easy to get working. triggerc
cool, would I have problems with my IDE optical drives? Or do I have to get a converter? Also does your DVI work with the patch? nagal
Glad to hear it's working for you Good to see you back! And thank you for all the hard work you put in! cool, would I have problems with my IDE optical drives? Or do I have to get a converter? Also does your DVI work with the patch? I used an IDE to SATA convertor on my DVD drive. There is a JMicron patch to get IDE working for the P5B not sure if thats the same chipset for your mobo's IDE. DVI (both of them) work great with Natit_Uni. triggerc
Thanks guys! It's up and running. I used the JaS 10.4.8 AMD Intel SSE2 SSE3.Defiant diskutil fix iso and installed it, to my surprise my ICH7R IDE worked for the installation. And I had LAN out of the box, with that everything was easy enough. Though when I tried to run the installer script for semthex's kernel my system crashed. So I downloaded the lastest kernel from his site but I've no idea on how to install it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
