WiZMaC
Alright! So I managed to get flash to load up in safari by running safari in rosetta mode. I haven't noticed any change in performance from what was reported in using rosetta with SSE3- which by the way, I'm using. My question is- If I was able to run Safari with Flash using Rosetta SSE3 then why the heck can't I run in normal mode? All other browsers work flawlessly- Firefox, IE, Opera etc ... but safari. --- Other than that- all programs work perfectly including MS Office 2004-OSX, Appleworks 6, Adobe CS2, Macromedia Studio 8 excluding ShapeShifter ... heck even the HP PSC 2510xi Printer Installer works with all functions enabled. -Over & Out- **** UPDATED **** I have managed to solve the problem with Safari and Flash [without using Rosetta] - Read On: Download the latest update package from the apple website [10.4.3] -HERE DO NOT INSTALL THE PACKAGE - All you need to do is view the contents and locate Archive.pax.gz ... Ungzip this file and you should now have a folder Archive on your desktop ... Exit Safari- if it's loaded then head on to your applications folder and drag the Safari icon to the trash bin. [ Safari is now deleted - Old Version ] Now cruise on into the Arhive folder located on your desktop and you will find Safari in the Applications folder- Drag the Safari icon into your Applications folder that is located on your system disk [where the old safari was] Run Safari and load 2advanced.com and Voila- Flash is working at its best! The new Safari version should be 2.0.2 [416.12] in order for flash to work. What's funny is that the update package was meant for the real mac-ppc and it seems and from the results of this safari update- they're cross-compatible which is good news. Next on my list- Nvidia as I would like to really utilize the power of the 6800Ultra I have lying around somewhere. Cheerio! Technobob
This version is a PPC version, so when you run it you are always using Rosetta. What we need is the Intel version to run with flash without using Rosetta.
