cmdshft
So yeah, topic title, something about firmware. Any way to circumvent this? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38960-how-can-i-get-bootcamp-to-install-on-my-hackintosh/ Share on other sites
Colonel
Boot Camp will not work on Hackintoshes due to the lack of EFI. cmdshft
So that's the "firmware" that it was referring to, huh? Figures Apple would be {censored} like that. lol Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38960-how-can-i-get-bootcamp-to-install-on-my-hackintosh/#findComment-277638 Share on other sites
Guest bikedude880
That and... why do you need to install a utility that partitions your HD and has drivers (designed for Apple hardware) to be hacking away at your PC? I can understand the need to resize an HFS partitioned drive though. erbic
Couldn't you just use parted/gparted to resize an HFS+ partition? Last I heard it is supported, although I haven't tried it myself. Yo, Hara Taiki. I recognize you from the AppleNova forums, in the topic trying to get MacFUSE to work. cmdshft
Yeah, I was looking for NTFS Read/Write, and it just wasn't working right away. I got it to work though. I was curious about BootCamp, for Parallels, so I could boot my NTFS drive which already has Windows on it, with all my apps. hubrist
How would Bootcamp help you with getting Parallels to boot from a hard drive instead of a disk image? It doesn't help with that for Mac owners, does it? erbic
Have you ever used Parallels? It can/usually will boot from a Windows XP Boot Camp partition, running the existing Windows installation. Can be a bit finicky, and Vista doesn't work at all. Hara Taiki, you can not install Boot Camp on a Hackintosh. It relies on EFI and (I think...) the GUID Partition Table, neither of which exist on Hackintoshes.
