Dellius
Hey m8s ;-) Today I decided to play a movie on my Hackintosh and in the activity monitor I noticed my cpu is at 50% while playing the movie. I would like to ask you is it possible somehow to fix this? Numberzz
No. It is the same for real macs too. It goes down at native resolution because it doesn't have to resize the pixels. Dellius
Thanks for your reply mr.mac. I think it has something to do with the codecs. Because when I use chroma player for example, the CPU usage is relatively normal even in full screen mode. What do you think about that? wow
I did a check for you on res 1280x1024 miljon collors. I played dvd vob, normal vobs, mpg2 files with vlc and quicktime player pro all full screen, only could see the dockbar. I never saw more then 20% cpu usage, so 50% seems indeed a bit much. All this on a P4 3ghz. goodluck with tuning ps did a check with apple dvdplayer 90 to 100%!!! Dellius
Hmmmm. I am playing at 1280x1024 too. My videocacrd is GF 6500 256 MB RAM. I played .avi files. Maybe it is because QuickTime is not meant for avi files to be played on it.
