As indicated by InformationWeek link above, Apple has already found a scapegoat to pin this on, ex-Apple attorney Wendy Howell and she is apparently admitting that she falsified the documents: http://www.informationweek.com/news/showAr...cleID=196900755

On Friday, the Journal cited people familiar with the issue as saying the false documentation was created by Apple attorney Wendy Howell, who the company dismissed last month.

Howell contends that Apple's general counsel at the time, Nancy Heinen, instructed her to create the false documentation, the Journal cited sources as saying.

Steve has several layers of insulation on this and the scandal would have to get much bigger to bring him down. Perhaps more importantly, the "victims" of this fraud, the AAPL stockers holders certainly do not want Steve to go (and otherwise have nothing to {censored} about).

Insulation sure... But Steve Authorized the stuff apparently for them to do so that becomes just a house with no walls... I am thinking its looking kinda bad from my point of view here. And its even worse if the SEC, DOJ just decides to make a example out of Him... Dont do this or you get blown to bits like Steve Jobs.

Even if Steve did authorize this "back-dating" personally, it would be impossible to prove when an attorney personally admitts to falsifying the documents herself.

These agencies do not act like this, they respond to poltical pressure and there is none here. This is nothing compared to Enron, WorldCom and the HP scandals, and apparently this "back-dating" fraud was common practice.

The real story here is Steve Jobs, not some petty white-collar crime. If there is a case it will be made against Wendy Howell and only her, and at this point I doubt that will even happen, she may only get disbarred.

Like hell they dont... Teacher going to jail for 40 years cause the schools software had expired for popup blocking thus porn spewed on the screen. Father going to jail for finding a hole in schools system and telling about it.. gets blamed for hacking and bam welcome to prison.

Its not a fair system thems the facts. They do make examples out of people for whatever motive they need. Dont ask me why it is not fair but its done.

I don't think you understand what I am saying. I am not talking about "little people", like "teacher" and "father", here. I am talking about Steve Jobs.

There is no way that the goverment is going to take action against him in this case, this is obvious because the stockholders of Apple (the supposed "victims" here) would lose big money if they did. Let me put this another way, for this to go anywhere Apple stockholders would have to pressure the goverment to get off its ass and go after Steve Jobs (which would be very difficult). They obviously are not going to.

In short, unlike cases like HP, WorldCom and Enron, nobody with any political clout is calling for Steve Jobs' head, instead people are lining up to defend him (and their Apple stock). Numerous people have already taken the fall to protect Steve, little or nothing more is going to happen here.

This is just a story (Steve Jobs) that people are interested in, if it where not for the iPhone I doubt people would even care about this now.
