nukenorman Posted January 11, 2007 Share Posted January 11, 2007 I downloaded the latest copy of OSX. The DVD boots up in my DVD drive and then loads up a small white screen in the middle of my monitor with the apple restart button and says to please restart my computer. I turn off the power on my computer because that is the only way and I boot it back up and it says the same thing. Does anyone know why it is saying this and how to fix it? I have tried it on 2 computers. My desktop is a dell dimension 8200 with 512 ram two 200 gig HD's and 256 MB ati rage 9550 video card and a P4 2.4 ghz. My laptop is a sony vaio with pentium M 2.0 ghz 756 ram 30 gig HD. Please help! askeyol Posted January 13, 2007 Share Posted January 13, 2007 If this happens when you first start up the DVD then there's something in your computer (perhaps your chipset or processor) that doesn't sit well with the DVD patch. What are the specs of your computer? Also, you could always use VMware to install. That's what I did when I had a similar problem. I attached a photo of the screen when it stops (sorry for the bad quality, i need an new camera, when I get a minute I will try and get a better pic) Hopefully together we can solve this poblem. Oracle67 Posted May 23, 2007 Share Posted May 23, 2007 Disable SMART from Bios , set boot order. Better use IDE HDD master and DVD drive slave. Better use PS/2 Key and Mouse. Unplug all unnessasery devices of your PC during installation. DONT chose Graphics Drivers on installation, it doesent work. Dont chose languages , printers, X11 just chose the nesasery only package intel or amd. If installation doesent start press F8 and type -v hit enter and you have a detailed error report, post it. Follow a detailed guide to install with minimal worries. I have an nVidia FX 5500 (PCI version) and have used Thico Alves' installer, but this just gives the same 'Restart me' message. LGT13 Posted May 24, 2007 Share Posted May 24, 2007 W000t! thanks alot I finnaly got it working i nstalled graphics fonts everything i wanted all I had to do to get it to work was disable my wifi card from the bios. Wohooo, im triple booting sabayon linux,osx,and xp pro. It fully recognizes and supports my 7900 go gs. I just need to get drivers for my intel abgwifi card and logitech z10 speakrs. then ill be set.
