jquintana
Hello, first of all. I am new to OS X and new to the forums as well. I have spent all day messing with this and am so close I can feel it. However, I am having a problem. I am working with an Intel Celeron D processor and have selected the SSE2 patch from the list during the setup process. When I turn the system on I see the grey Apple with the circle at the bottom. The screen then changes to a light blue page where my mouse cursor is active but nothing seems to happen after this. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks! When I turn the system on I see the grey Apple with the circle at the bottom. The screen then changes to a light blue page where my mouse cursor is active but nothing seems to happen after this. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks! This happened to me when using an Intel 945G based motherboard with dual display capability. If there is an ADD2 card present and you connect to the VGA (not the ADD2 card's DVI) port, you will only see the empty second display - only a blue screen with the mouse cursor. Fixing that is simple - pull out the DVI card or plug your monitor to the DVI connector to get the primary screen. Of course, your system could be just hanging before it can show the login window. Have you tried booting in safe mode (-x)? jquintana
I am using an Intel motherboard [i can get the model number later] with an on-board video card that has a single VGA output. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Lowcash
Looks like i am running the same setup 945G Intel mobo, but whatI did was not to install the GMA900 or GMA950 support on the install of JaS 10.4.8. It works, but not to sure about the vidoe working correctly. i have been trying to get info to correct this and make it work correctly, but very usure and hard to find the right info. So off the wall question. Is this Intel 945G fall under the GMA950 ir the GMA900? I get this in the Profiler Type: Display Bus: Built-in Vram (total): 64MB shared Vendor: Intel Device ID: 0x2772 Revision ID: 0x0002 Kernel Extension info: No Kext Loaded Display: Resolution: 1024x768 Depth: 32-bit Color Core Image: Not Supported Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme; Not Supported Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37709-grey-apple-screen-blue-screen-nothing/#findComment-273670 Share on other sites
inzeo
I too experienced this same problem at the start. To fix this, plug in another monitor into your external VGA port or use the Wire Trick. This should allow you to see the login screen. Hope this works for you, good luck!
