tha_toadman
Has anyone gotten the new GMA X3000 to work with OSX? I see the new Dell's are shipping with it (unless you upgrade). I'm curious to see if anyone has tested it or if they have had any success. Thanks. tha_toadman
thanks man but i already saw those posts and really didn't get much out of them. i guess i might have to be the first. it sounds like just an overclocked GMA 950 from what I've gathered. asap18
taylor, try the vmware to native way. If you dont want windows at all after you install osx. Just install onto the whole disk in vmware, after you're done and exit vmware, windows will freak out, blue screen, and reboot you into osx. bptba93
so i tried the vmware thing.. i just wanted to install it in vmware first then delete it and install to native, but when booting up the dvd i get this error saying that the emulated os has had a virtual machine kernel stack fault. any ideas? tha_toadman
why can't you try it native? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37580-gma-x3000/#findComment-268396 Share on other sites
bptba93
well i tried first time.. it didnt like my dvd sata drive so i went and changed the bios from raid to ide. Then it was complaining about the cpu so i typed in cpus=1 so that went away. Now when i try it says ACPI: System State [s0 S3 S4 S5] (S3) It just hangs here. No reading from the dvd drive or hdd or anything just sits. Fix this and maybe it will boot.. or go to the next problem. tha_toadman
this would mean that the new dell's shouldn't be a problem (if the GMA X3000) has been known to work ... as long as you leave the video option as default Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37580-gma-x3000/#findComment-269461 Share on other sites
