Sleepy Sentry
I just got JaS 10.4.7 installed on my Pentium 4 3 GHz Prescott machine. I had to use the SSE2 patch because the SSE3 patch caused a double kernel panic, even though my CPU supports SSE3. Anyway, my CPU shows up as being 3.6 GHz under OS X's system preferences! OS X hasn't auto overclocked my processor, has it? For now I'm going to assume it just misdetected it because otherwise I'd have a molten CPU if it was really running that fast, but I thought I would ask just to be on the safe side. SpeedfreaK
it's just a problem with the cpu speed recognizing. OS X thinks that my 2.4 ghz runs at 3.06 ghz and it isn't overclocked.
