Yep 🥲

Everything is like it was in Sequoia.

You can contact this person. He currently has the same card working in Tahoe. I think he'll be able to help. He helped me get rid of the freezing windowserver with My RX 5700 XT card. It turned out that it was enough to write the personal  ATY,Adder in the card properties.

Thanks. RestrictEvents was installed, have put revpatch=sbvmm in boot-args but did not help. This arg was not need for Sonoma nor Sequoia update (Multiboot with same EFI), I need olny release version.

I'm still with Opencore 1.05, did I update and all kexts ?

@Thebes Knossos It is a good idea to post your EFI (at least your config.plist) when posting questions that require an understanding of your Open core configuration.  You may get more help if you are able to provide this additional information.

@Thebes Knossos

There are 2 mistakes in lines 42 and 271. Is this config working fine for you?

  • line 42 is "          <dict>", to be removed
  • line 271 is "                <key>Enabled</key", missing closing > at the end.

Not so important but line 124 is blank, remove it too.

@miliuco: yes I've cleaned an unused ACPI, add section before posting, please consider dict is removed for line 42

Line 272: I've cleaned a comment behind, please consider > exist, restrictevents is loaded

Line 124 was a comment line  before cleaning.

I repeat, this common EFI load Sonoma, Sequoia and Tahoe.

Sequoia and Sonoma get delta updates, Tahoe gets no updates (delta or complete), why ?

Hi @Thebes Knossos Right ! It's better to update Opencore, drivers and kexts to latest. Only put revpatch=sbvmm in boot-args (instead of twice in your config.plist).

Ok. If I update Opencore + main Kexts, will my EFI sill be compatible with Sonoma and Sequoia ?

Yes, updating Opencore + main Kexts does not interfere with compatibility with Sonoma and Sequoia, but boot arguments amfi=0x80 ipc_control_port_options=0, which are necessary for normal working some programs after root patching with OpenCore-Patcher 3.0.0 Experimental Tahoe, partially break compatibility. 😉

Because you may get automatic update only for models without T2 for example iMac19,1 which is not compatible with Tahoe.

So I can get automatic updates in Sequoia and early just using iMac19,1 model but I have no variants in Tahoe.

The only way is RestrictEvents with bootarg sbvmm. Or the same action by Clover board-id=VMM-x86_64 without special kexts.

Updated to 26.2, all went well.

I log onto the Mac, start working on any app, and after about 10 mins (time varies), screen goes blank. nothing happens. The only option is to restart. I have tried to reinstall the OS, also updated open core, no benefit.

Any help is appreciated.

upon restart, there is windows server error.

I am not connecting to any remote desktop, so what is the issue and how to ⚙️ Fix: it?

I never see this issue. I suppose your hack works fine on Tahoe 26.1 ?

Could you share a picture of this "windows server error" !

@vamose

Hi,

On macOS, the WindowServer process is responsible for communication between your applications and what is displayed on the screen. Simply put, it handles drawing the graphical elements on your screen.

So, your screen = your GPU = your kexts et boot args  ;)

@Matgen84 - I am unable to take the screen shot, the monitor go blank as soon as I login.

@fantomas - thanks for ensuring it is something to do with kext.
Could you guide me how to ⚙️ Fix: it.

What is device-id of your video card 67DF or 6FDF?

You may check in Windows, in Linux or in Clover's preboot.log (by pressing F2 key)

Attached is the pic - using IORegsitly explorer.

Also from Hackintool  0x67DF1002

FYI: I have absolutely no issues using 15.5 (24F74) Sequoia with dual monitor and so was the case with the Tahoe 26.0 but 26.1 or 26.2 are causing issue, unable to use the system.

Try it with this EFI.

Thanks @MakAsrock for sharing the EFI, no luck though.
Same issue. I am greeted with login screen, I enter the password and right after few seconds both the screens black out and unable to use.

It's very strange, I successfully installed macOS Tahoe 26.2 without any WhateverGreen with a SAPPHIRE PULSE Radeon RX 580 8 GB 0x1002 0x67DF (without acceleration) and then it works with WhateverGreen without problems. I don't use this old computer for Hackintosh only because it is so slow (There is no NVMe slot). True, I used Clover. I'm attaching my working configuration from the Asus z77-a + RX 580. Truth without OCLP. Sound through an external card, but Wi-Fi did not turn on.

BIOS settings:

    •    Fast Boot - off
    •    Secure Boot - off
    •    Serial/COM Port - off
    •    Parallel Port - off
    •    VT-d (can be enabled if you set DisableIoMapper to YES)
    •    Compatibility Support Module - off
    •    Thunderbolt - off
Bios was patched for CFG Lock (MSR 0xE2 write protection).

Thanks a lot @MakAsrock & @LockDown

I am using gigbyte MOBO if that makes any difference.
Tried no luck.

This is so annoying, Tahoe 26.0 worked flawlessly, then 26.1 and 26.2 have become nightmare.

Any other solution?

RX580 GPU has 2 display port and 2 HDMI port, if that helps.
