I am also having issues with WEG. I have tried it with various boot args and black screen. I tried to change to WEG because Nootrx.kext hangs on a black screen after boot for about 15 to 30 seconds before it loads the desktop.

My Z690 is fine with Nootrx, it's just that I'm old, stuck in my ways and have always used WEG lol. My GPU is an RX6800 which I think is a very easy one for hackintosh.

I am using the 6800XT as well. Does your GPU have the usb c video out as well? I use that usb c to the monitor because with hdmi i get no audio using Noot

I've just got the straight RX6800 - not XT. Normal HDMI but I have sound on the Asus Z690-i with no special effort. Works out of USB, SPDIF and the HDMI with the existing AppleALC. I'm not really sure why, probably the specific audio chip on the motherboard I guess.

Have you tried opening the EFI partition with OC Configurator? Is it just me who is having this slow start-up? After that it's normal.

I use OCAT. I think it's important to use the configurator that created the EFI in the first place. Well that was my experience from years ago anyway.

Now the review of Tahoe Beta 3.

New Wallpaper, AppleHDA.kext working after successfully installed the Beta 3 (Update). My Graphics Card => AMD Radeon RX 6600 8GB is working without any issue with WEG working OOB,

Audio ALC897 is working without any issue so far, and every single app I run Works without any issues..

My Intel Power Gadget works now with beta 3 :)

Possibly taking out nootRX and putting back WEG did it, I have no idea what these things do lol.

That fixed it :)

Thank you my friend!

Thanks for confirming that with the latest official opencore release and the latest official Lilu-Family-Kext-Package, the Tahoe Beta clean installers/updates also work with state-of-the- art graphic cards like your AMD RX 6800 with WhateverGreen.kext enabled and using the bootarg: agdpmod=pikera👍

Smooth and easy upgrade from Tahoe Beta 2 -> Beta 3 on my HackMini8,1.  Same upgrade procedure as Beta 1 -> Beta 2: Temporarily disable BluetoolFixup.kext and temporarily add WEG boot-arg -wegnoegpu for OTA incremental upgrade.  After upgrade is complete, enable BluetoolFixup.kext and remove WEG boot-arg -wegnoegpu, then reboot.  RX 560x and VoodooHDA work in Beta 3 without issues that I have observed.

I'm using VoodooHDA.kext with csr-active-config = <01000000> (only need to allow untrusted kexts - no need to further disable SIP after VoodooHDA is installed).  Sound quality is outstanding.  I'm not using OCLP at all on this hack, since it is my "production" hack and I want maximal SIP, enabled AMFI and no rooting.

After performing upgrade, VoodooHDA.kext continued to work without issues - no need to re-install VoodooHDA or perform any other operations following the upgrade.

Incremental Upgrade after temporarily disabling BluetoolFixup.kext and temporarily adding -wegnoegpu boot-arg

The duration is the same. It may have something to do with the processor.

Just to clarify that my friend, the install of Tahoe and the updates to beta 2 and to beta 3 were all with NootRX. Beta 3 is running nicely with the new WEG and the bootarg agdpmod=pikera.

I feel confident that the WEG can be used for updates but I haven't tested that yet.

Clean install Beta 3 test done no problem.

Removed the Amfi boot-arg and returned to using just the Amfi.kext.

Yes, I'm using Clover with RehabMan's kexts for a fresh install on my Lenovo T14

Fastest installation ever — just 10 minutes!  :plane: 👀
