Lost-Entrepreneur439
After the verbose log on my MSI RX 580 Gaming X 4GB, the screen just goes black. There's no noticeable errors so I'm not sure what's going on. I've tested with multiple different monitors and it happens across all of them with both HDMI and DVI. I don't have a DisplayPort monitor or adapter to test. Anyone know how I could resolve this? This system's specs are in my signature. EFI is attached to the topic. Change to iMac18,3 which assumes RX580. 2 Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/360222-rx-580-msi-black-screen-after-verbose/#findComment-2827485 Share on other sites

Max.1974
Some ROMS like Chinese 2048sp need enable CSM. If your hardware is native RX 580 4GB, maybe ROM need update or need flash to Sapphire ROM 4GB. I will test my card RX 580 Sapphire 4GB and report here... EDIT: Also same almost results here, using Clover 5160 and iMacPro1,1, two monitors and one HDMI one Dvi, stuck on verbose screen. I will try using recommendation by @Cyberdevs Spoiler Edited November 7, 2024 by Max.1974 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/360222-rx-580-msi-black-screen-after-verbose/#findComment-2827498 Share on other sites

It's on the latest vBIOS available and the Sapphire one uses a different vRAM brand so it's incompatible iirc. 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/360222-rx-580-msi-black-screen-after-verbose/#findComment-2827499 Share on other sites

Lost-Entrepreneur439
update - i guess this issue can technically be considered solved now, as i swapped the 580 to another computer i forgot i had, and it works fine there (thats also an acer system, but a kaby lake aspire -- this system is a sandy bridge veriton) still curious as to why it doesnt work, i can still test things as i have my sapphire nitro+ 570 which has the exact same issue as that 580 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/360222-rx-580-msi-black-screen-after-verbose/#findComment-2827521 Share on other sites
