Mx34u
This is step by step. 1. Install OSX 10.4.7 Using Jas DVD only patch selected 10.4.7 Update and SSE2 2. Goto the beta irc and get JAS 10.4.8 SSE2 Update w/ New 10.4.8 Kernel 3. GO back to the room and download the new Exp 6 Kernel and Rename it test6 4. Drop the renamed kernel into your root directory 5. Download and install Natit_Uni_1.0.pkg 6. Reboot with f8 and at prompt type test6 -v 7. You should boot to gui and have qe/ci ! and iTunes7 8. If everything went good rename test6 to mach_kernel and enjoy Not the best guide but simple! -TiLT-
As a sidenote it should be mentioned, that natit most of the time requires editing of Geforce.kext, NVDAResman.kext and NVDANV40Hal.kext with your graphiccards deviceid and vendorid. mcfresh
Thanks for the guide. But be aware that this is still no "real" 10.4.8 with SSE2 , as this would only require apples original combo update + smbios + newkernel to be applied and fully working. Mx34u
I made the guide because nowhere does it say how to get x1300's working. This is how I got it working so thats what I wrote ;-) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35811-sse2-1048-new-kernel-x1300-w-ciqe-itune7/#findComment-255001 Share on other sites

Mister-X
what to do if you have already installed the old 10.4.8 jas update? ultrasoul
what to do if you have already installed the old 10.4.8 jas update? Same here. Have already installed the Jas 10.4.8 combo update but I'm still running the old kernel on my SSE 2 machine. Can I still use the steps described above to get things to work? Cheers Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35811-sse2-1048-new-kernel-x1300-w-ciqe-itune7/#findComment-267919 Share on other sites
