When Safari was crashing on me all the time, it was constantly with a Divide by Zero error (consult your crash log - Report to Apple, then scroll down thru to see the cause - you needn't actually send it to Apple). My solution at the time was to use FireFox which did not crash. I think the cpus=1 and the mifki kernel fixed my problem, so I'm now using safari...

Do you have any 1dea why this happens. It is not very frequent but it's annoying. I have SSE2 and SSE3 I checked out, I applyed the AMD Enablers during install but I still don't get it. Please help the newbie. :)

Hey, I have the same CPU and problem. I thought it might have been flash or something. I ended up using Firefox 2.0 in the meantime.

Nah it's just some stupid bug in apple's software. I studied the problem carefuly and found out that Safari is just a bad browser. It renders pages inproperly, many compatibility issues, and so and so and so on.

I ended up using Camino - best look, best compatibility, even better then IE 7. No problems with windows-1251 Cyrilic sites, no problems with anything. Supports tabs and best of all - it is free. Not like OmniWeb which behaves awful while browsing most of the sites. And they dare to want $30 for it. :(

FF is good as well but it is just not good for browsing sites with Cyrilic codepages. Besides Camino is faster.

hi guys!

Safari was crashing with me too, and I have the same processor of you, a Semprom 2800. I tried another alternatives web browsers, but any of them are as fast as Safari on MacOS. So I realized that it was crashing just on "Flash enabled" sites. I then entered on the Adobe site and downloaded the newest flash plugin for MacOS and all my problems was solved!! I have safari working for me for about 2 weeks without any problem!!! It never crashed again! =D I hope it helped
