macOS Ventura on X79

Hi, has anyone tried to install macOS 13 on X79?
I used MacPro7,1 as SMBIOS, renamed EUSB and USBE to EH01 and EH02, removed unused cores from DSDT and returned zero for CUU0.

The installation went flawlessly but won't boot the installed system.

Does anyone tried and give me some reports?

I think you might need to change the SMBIOS people also with Coffee Lake processors posted the same issue when using MacPro7,1 SMBIOS.

I tried iMacPro1,1 but won't boot.

During boot it just hangs for a second at "specread_work_queue" and then reboots.
I had the same issue with Monterey, had to edit DSDT to remove extra declared cores leaving only 12 cores actually used by my CPU, but this can't be the case now because those edits are still there

Do you have the latest Nightly Build of OpenCore, Lilu, VirtualSMC and Whatevergreen installed? If not, download them here: https://dortania.github.io/builds/?product=OpenCorePkg&viewall=true (select kext from dropdown menu)

If so, enable AvoidRuntimeDefrag quirk.

If that still doesn't work ,use the emulate feature. OCAT has presets for it.

It’s all updated, I can try new builds. The quirk is already enabled. What I can’t understand is this, why can I boot the installer and install the OS but not boot it once is installed? Does it check the CPU only when full installed?

@SchlachtbankHS Enter in Terminal:

sysctl -a | grep machdep.cpu.leaf7_features

If the output doesn't include "AVX2" then that's the reason why you can't boot – nissing Injstructions. AVX2 was introduced in Haswell. You can install it but not boot it.

In this case, you need to do this: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/oc-ventura-install-on-cmp-5-1.2347310/?post=31172042#post-31172042

I used Option 1 (but requires a sencond computer with a newer CPU)

Worked for me on Ivy Bridge first try. So you either did something wrong or there's a config issue.

Try -no_compat_check boot-arg

Disable any Booter and Kernel Patches you may have used in Monterey

See a success on X79

@RoberT_XeS thanks for help via Telegram  🙏

• USB remap very important
• just add 2 kext patch for Polaris GPU NoAVXFSCompressionTypeZlib-AVXpel.kext and

• CryptexFixup.kext

• Add boot arg

-amd_no_dgpu_accel for installation macOS then remove

-amd_no_dgpu_accel Post Install after patching with OpenCore Legacy replace agdpmod=pikara.

• Disable SIP code 030E0000

🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
