hello all, @Slice @miliuco @Jief_Machak

I was just updating an Clover 5146 EFI with differents setting on my MSI Z390 ( MacG5case :MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon Bios 7B17v1B, i7-9700K, 32 Go 3200, UHD 630/RX6800XT), I was trying it by booting from a USB key

it crashed.

the verbose spoke to me repeating it several times a problem with the USB key

it's probably a coincidence,  since then, I can no longer boot on an EFI, clover or OpenCore. (these EFIs in place worked very well, whether OpenCore 080 or Clover 5146).

I can start Windows, no problem.

but if I choose directly in the bios to boot on an ssd with an EFI OC or Clover, or a USB key, the MSI logo remains displayed without moving.

I checked my Bios settings (no change noted).

I disconnected the power supply, the SSD disks, reconnected no evolution...

to put it simply I can't even reach the menus of Clover or OpenCore anymore

is there a way to go through the windows shell to identify a problem?

Do you have any advice? thank you in advance

Hi-just a suggestion-it might help to get a screen-shot of the verbose output showing the KP for one to see what you state was the problem when  : 'the verbose spoke to me repeating it several times a problem with the USB key'

Also -is this problem with Monterey , Big Sur or both?

Build 1: iMac20,2, i5-9400F, Samsung 16GB DDR4 RAM, MSI Z390 Gaming Plus , Radeon RX580 8GB, OC 0.8.0

Suggestions:

- ResetNVRAM ( @5T33Z0 )

- Empty motherboard CMOS (specific pins or unplug power cable and remove battery a few seconds).

Try and comment.
- Try another USB stick ( @5T33Z0 ).

Thank you for your answers
I can't do an nvram reset, because I no longer have access to the OC/Clover menus so it's also impossible to get the verbose message again
the hack starts then remains blocked on the msi logo, I can access the bios, it is after it blocks but before the Clover/OC menus
I tried with another usb key.

windows starts normally, is there a way to reset nvram through windows shell?

I will try to remove the battery for the cmos tonight.

@5T33Z0 @miliuco

I haveone nvme with monterey, one ssd with bigsure and one nvme with windows 10 pro.
initially the EFI is on the nvme.

after the problem appeared yesterday I unplugged the ssd and put an EFI on it whith my other hack and replugged it

but
that I choose in the Bios a usb key / the nvme / the ssd, no boot only MSI logo,  only windows works

good evening, thank you all, the CMOS track was the right one, I reset with the pins  @miliuco

I thought the bios would be the one when the card was delivered but no, the last one was still in place.

after the settings Bios to redo everything is ok:
