BALDY_MAN
Hi all. I'm thinking of upgrading to a nice 32inch 4K. monitor. from 32 inch 1440p one But I'm worried that the native resolution of 3840x2160 will be real small on a 4k 32 inch display in Mac OS would I have to go to a 34 inch to get 4K native resolution 3840x2160? Does anyone have any knowledge about this please?
miliuco
@BALDY_MAN My 5 years old iMac 27" has things too small at native 4K resolution, as the 29" 4K monitor connected in my hack. Both of them are working at 2560x1440. I don't know the monitor size that lets to get 4K with an acceptable text size. Maybe 34 but I'm thinking about 38". Note that age and quality of the user's vision also has an influence. Those with better eyesight can use smaller text sizes. BALDY_MAN
@miliuco I just don't want to spend big money and have to scale down from the 4K resolution because its to small for me to read. no smaller icons than 40x40 that's what I'm using @ 2560x1440 thanks for you interest
ANTIKO
I use Viewsonic vp3268a, the native resolution is very small, I had to set 3008x1692. I think it was necessary to take 38 inches for an acceptable resolution.

I am in that club, without my glasses I can't see 4K or even Half a K Good luck on your purchase though. Spoiler
Slice
With a large monitor I'm tired to rotate my head left and right. My neck is not a hinge. I think the large monitor is for picture or movie but not for text. PS. Clover with svg themes will be looking fine on any sized monitor. 1

BALDY_MAN
I found this on the internet You won’t need to choose a display that is exactly 110PPI or 220PPI. A slightly lower value will mean text and interface elements are larger. A slightly higher value will mean text and interface elements are smaller. You can use Sven Neuhaus’s PPI calculator to work out the pixel density of any display you’re interested in. Here’s a list of common external displays, with the 110PPI and 220PPI zones indicated.
