Martin Dobson
I've just added a AMD-HD7570 GPU as it the only thing I can get without having to sell my house. I put the card in and everything boots up in the "About this Mac" it just shows as "Display 7MB" in the system report its; Display: Type: GPU Bus: PCIe PCIe Lane Width: x16 VRAM (Total): 7 MB Vendor: AMD (0x1002) Device ID: 0x675d Revision ID: 0x0000 Kernel Extension Info: No Kext Loaded Displays: It doesn't seem to be seeing the detail on the card, is this normal, if not what do I need to do to fix? Also it not picking up the audio so goes its not right
miliuco
@Martin Dobson I don't know if it's supported. Do you have Lilu and WhateverGreen in Kexts and config.plist? In Dortania GPU Buyers Guide it isn't among supported cards.
Martin Dobson
Yes I have them installed, I know its supported by Mac os, but I can't see it in the Dortania list, but that may be cause it was a low profile card but it is the same spec as the 7750
Cyberdevs
@Martin Dobson You need to need to check the device ID of your GPU to make sure if it has native support in macOS, otherwise you either need to spoof the GPU ID of a close match to your GPU using a SSDT or you need to spoof the device ID via config under the device properties section. P.S. The device ID for 7570 is 1002 675D and the device ID for 7750 is 1002 683F. Add this file to your ACPI folder and see if that works. Martin Dobson
Thanks I tried this but unfortunately it wont boot just on the graphics card but it was worth a shot so thank you for taking time to help. I'll take look on eBay for a compatible card.
